The AAL is a non-regenerable drinking water and general-purpose cartridge designed to reduce fluorides to below 0.5 ppm. It is constructed totally from FDA grade materials and media.
The AAL cartridge utilizes a special fine mesh activated alumina that has been pre-conditioned specifically for single use cartridge applications. Laboratory evaluations have demonstrated that the pre-conditioning step will increase the AAL capacity to as high as 11000 ppm F+ with effluent levels below 0.2 ppm from 10 ppm F+ feed.
High pH, high bicarbonate levels and high flow rates all adversely affect the capacity of the AAL. For best results, do not exceed recommended flow rates and pH conditions. For influent streams above 100 ppm of bicarbonate, reduce capacity by 50%; above 200 ppm, reduce capacity by 75%.
The AAL has also been shown to reduce arsenic to below 0.02 ppm (from 0.12 ppm feed). However, the total capacity for arsenic has yet to be determined.
3RD STAGE KDF/GAC WATER FILTER
Carbon/KDF filter. Carbon, when combined with KDF, the effectiveness of the carbon's life is extended. KDF works by the redox (oxidation reduction process) like this: KDF Fluid Treatment unique combination of copper and zinc creates an electro-chemical reaction. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules, and new elements are created. Some harmful contaminants are changed into harmless components. Free chlorine for instance , is changed into beingn, water-soluble chloride, which is then carried harmlessly through the water supply. Similarly, some heavy metals such as copper, lead, mercury and others, react to plate out the mediums surface, thus being effectively removed from the water supply. Carbon also removes - Volatile organic chemicals, or VOCs, are often toxic chemical compounds used industrially that may be present in water sources. A variety of fuels, solvents, coatings and refrigerants are volatile organic chemicals. Activated charcoal effectively traps and absorbs many different VOCs. Chlorine - No other filter removes chlorine and its accompanying odor and flavor as well as an activated charcoal filter. Most municipal water sources are treated at one or more stages with chlorine to kill bacteria. Pesticides - The Environmental Protection Agency lists activated charcoal filters as the only way to reduce pesticide quantities in drinking water. Many different pesticides used today are leached into our water sources and cause contamination. The carbon ensures a sparkling pure water taste.
